A certificate is an electronic piece of identity especially featuring:
the surname and first name of the holder of the certificate,
the code (called "public code") permitting the signature of the certificate holder to be authenticated.
Its purpose is to ensure:
the identity of the holder: the certificate allows positive identification with the certificate of the sender of the message received,
the integrity of the message content signed using the certificate: the original data is respected and cannot be modified or altered during transmission,
the validity of the commitment made: the data transmitted cannot be repudiated.
The certificate allows offers and applications on the market floor to be signed electronically.
